Letatlin are born in the late 90th through the collaboration of Marc Mal de Vivre, Hans Plasma and Orsonero.
In the first 3 demos ('Tatlin', 'Fossili di piccolo calibro', 'Detriti'), the group - assisted by Mr.MF on drums - follows a post-rock noise imprint.
In 2002, the band releases the album 'Missili sul Giappone' (auto-production) where the sounds gradually move towards a wave-dark style with schizoid lyrics. The product is well received by the press and in 2003 Letatlin are busy with the next work:'1919: naissance du robot' that will be crucial from a technical and creative point of view. For the first time the group uses a drum machine, synths and sampled sounds. The sound evolves towards something that could be called visionary post-punk. The reviews are excellent and the group is contacted by Ark Records (neo-born independent label) to record their first official album.
But each evolution is followed by a movement. Have you ever felt how much words decrease with the increasing of disgust? M. Mal de Vivre, and H. Plasma decide to move to Amsterdam. The album 'La Sepoltura delle Farfalle' (Ark Records / Masterpiece distribution) is conceived through a sonic-electronic correspondence between Rome and Amsterdam. The album is released in 2006 and the reviews in France, Germany, England, Holland, Poland and other countries are all excellent. Mick Mercer contacts the group and puts it in his latest book 'Music to Die For' (published by Cherry Red Book, 2009). The band continues performing live and composing new songs more and more in English. In 2008 the band itself produces a new EP 'Lolita is Waiting for You' containing four tracks.
In 2009 Orsonero leaves the group with which he still collaborates occasionally as an external member. In 2010 Mal de Vivre and Plasma record three new singles: '39th of May', 'H. Dynamo' and 'The Lake'. There are many songs that are still waiting to be recorded and published. Mal de Vivre and Plasma are always looking for a label worthy and courageous that is willing to produce and distribute their innovative and excellent work . Currently the Australian bassist S. Smith and the computer programmer WeW are following the band during live performances. |
